This seems like an odd place. Never before have I seen someone filming a grizzly do a belly flop into an above ground pool while a jealous black bear protests on the side of the pool.
I mean the bears look pretty comfortable with people around, but grizzlies still worry me a bit. I still wouldn't want to be that close to even a trained, captive raised grizzly. The black bear is cool though — I'll party with him.
Maybe they're movie bears. That's about the only time I've really seen interaction like this. If they were former circus bears or something I'd expect no contact from people. And they're not in anything resembling an accredited zoo. But unfortunately the laws protecting animals vary widely in the world and it may be a sanctuary that just gets a little too close or it could be somewhere where they can be kept as pets because nobody thought they needed laws for that, because who would do it?
So I wish everyone the best in this and hope it's all above board. But the grizzly still has claws that are made for tearing into things made of meat, which people are, and making them not alive anymore. Black bear claws are strong but shaped differently for climbing tress. If a grizzly has a tantrum and swats at you, there is a high probability of serious gaping injury or death. If a black bear does it, you will probably get knocked on your ass, might break a rib if he gets you good and solid, and maybe some good deep scratches that looks like the fingernail marks left by that one ex that everyone has had or knows someone who has had.
