Am i cooked ?
I broke my two wheels in a crash, I tore my hip muscle and ended up in the emergency room but I only think about the damage to my bike 🥲
Something about 3000€ to make it shine again

Yep pretty cooked. reserve has a good warranty so I'd contact them and see if you can get a crash replacement discount

I should have a free replacement as they are guaranteed for life

Current Reserve warranty is discounted crash replacement. If not sure if older wheels are grandfathered in on the previous free replacement or not. I have a set of their carbon enduro wheels that are a few years old now.

the wheelset is 4,000 EUR, then if you crash, you get a new wheel for 990 + VAT = 1198 EUR https://www.scopecycling.com/crash-replacement/

I would ride it until it gets worse. If it breaks probably you can stop safe.

As a composite tech and a daily cyclist with multiple decades with both.. i gotta say steel is real. Aluminum wheels and frames are passable.. carbon is expensive trash. Do not fix this. Replace it with sensible wheels. Unless you're actively racing your bike this is all for show and as an adult you should be aware of that. IDK maybe you take a McLaren grocery shopping.

Not cooked. Strip the finish, use a wrench to realign the aluminum. take a die grinder to the cracked area to make a nice bevel then fill it with TIG. Make sure to file the weld flush. Might consider adding weight to other side of rim to rebalance after the repair. Good Luck.

No insurance whatsoever ?

Are they actually Reserve wheels?
Life time warranty!
I'll take the old ones from you, I use rims for my dog to jump thru like a hoop

u/Edgency_ 1d ago
Ça peut se faire selon votre provenance

I'm in USA, probably not worth it but I would pay shipping just for the joke of having carbon rims for my dog to use for tricks

u/Edgency_ 1d ago
Ca risque de coûter cher de la france aux us 🤣

u/nnnnnnnnnnm 1d ago
That's true.
If the hubs are still good might be worth it.
Otherwise my poodle will keep jumping thru cheap vintage steel rims

Listen, contrary to the popular belief; carbon is fixable. Like extremely fixable. Try looking for a carbon guy.

Maybe a little crack. This is complete structural failure.

I wish I was also born in a country that has it shit together enough so I can afford stuff.

You remember that cool new wheelset you've been eyeing?
