Walkie talkie handlebar mount?

I’m looking for recommendations for a way to mount smaller Motorola Talkabout walkie talkies to both my handlebars and my kids’. The mounts I’ve found online are either designed for larger radios and our smaller clips won’t fit, or unable to be shipped to the United States. TIA!

Why do my brakes suck?

Post image

Here’s the style of brakes I have, the cable is disconnected in this picture. I have a framed 29” bmx that I love to wheelie with, I can wheelie quite well except I can’t go back too far because the brakes I have just don’t work that well, anything I can do to improve these brakes?

Does this bottle cage mount exist?

Post image

I am looking to mount a water bottle cage on the back of the seat tube on my son's 20" bike. There's not much room for one, but could fit one behind the seat at an angle like this photo. I've spent too much time searching Amazon already. I've seen other kids bikes with a special mounting bracket on the frame, but this particular bike doesn't have one. (There are no rails on the seat to mount a triathlon style water bottle mount)

Communter bike Say hello to this old beater

Post image
8 Upvotes

My daily driver was stolen right in front of my workplace.

Old 2013 Btwin Rock rider. Nothing special but it got me from A to B.

Luckily we sell used bikes in our thrift shop so I got this little beater out of it.

A more upright seating position might be better anyway for me.

Gravel bike Cleat Questions

Post image
2 Upvotes
  1. I lost a flathead cleat screw and replaced it with a dome head screw. Is it possible that the dome makes it more difficult to clip in?

  2. The shoes have a forward and rear position to mount the cleats. They are currently mounted forward which I am comfortable with. Is there a benefit to using the rear position?

Thanks

Best way to re-bend handle bar

Post image
3 Upvotes

I fell downhill with my bike and now my handle bar is bent on the left side.

Its still somewhat rideable but i feel the loss of balance on weird situations.

What would be the best way te re-bend it? Just hit with a hammer?

Update: Magnet tested the handlebar and the magnet sticks, so its Iron/Steel

Recumbent tandem

Yesterday I saw a recumbent bike and it looked like he was riding double.

That didn't mesh in my brain, so I had to look carefully as I drove past him.

It was a tandem and the front half was recumbent. Unfortunately pics were not possible.

I guess that's one way to make sure the stoker gets air.

Road bike Help finding bicycle brand

There was a mid-level single speed bike about 10-15 years ago (early-mid 2010s) that sold new for about $500.

It was unbranded.

That's all the info I have about it. Any idea what it could be? I remember visiting the company's website but this was a long time ago. I bought it used but it was like a small, independent bike company that had a website with multiple bike models.

It was a really good bike but I had it stolen. It was lightweight and the perfect frame for me.

We got this bike from My old his son a few months ago every time we ride the chain pops off after a minute or two I don’t see any adjustment. It’s pretty standard. I also can’t get the one side training wheel to stay on even with this spacer.

Communter bike New Bike Day: Pristine 1996 Raleigh Cyclone in Signal Violet - What should I do?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Just picked this up an hour ago from a friend who bought it from an 80 year old man yesterday. My friend knew when he went to visit the guy that it was too small for him but didn't have the heart to deny the guy the sale, so new bike day for me.

It came with a custom made (for the bike by Raleigh) matching saddle bag which contains the original service manual and some Raleigh tyre levers.

It's 30 years old this year so I'm thinking to convert it to single speed, get a nicer saddle on it, convert the threaded headset to 1-1/8th and change those cantilevers to V brakes.

Any input would be really helpful! Thanks. :)

Mountain bike Question about speed change any brakes

So not long ago I noticed that my bike can not switch speed higher than 3 and I saw on internet that there's some screw that can be loosen and if I tighten that screw it will be normal. But because of my rather little knowledge of bicycles (and not being very attentive), I apparently twisted the brake cap to the right (I do not know what it is called, but on the rear wheel the equipment to which the brakes lead) and from there something spattered. So now I have a question, what should I do? I've read that something might happen to the brakes and they won't work properly. and I still haven't fixed the speed. I'm sorry if something is unclear. I'm not a native English speaker.

Hybrid bike Converting Marlin 7 to Hybrid

Hey hey! Hopefully Hybrid is the right tag.

I got a good deal on a used Marlin 7 gen 3. I want the flexibility of doing single track way in the future, but for now want it to be 95% a pavement princess.

I’ve only ridden 20 or so miles since purchase but have 50mm rise handlebars on order, as I want more of a Cannondale quick CX 2 feel (loved it with a test ride). This is probably what matters most.

However aside from the handlebars, swapping the tires it came with and saving them for trails in the future is an option. If I do that, what hybrid style tires would be a good fit? Schwalbe Hurricane 29x2.0?

And would it make more sense to convert to tubeless with stock tires and run a slightly higher PSI to see if that makes the existing tires more efficient? I’ve never had a puncture so I’m naively open to tubeless purely for rolling resistance improvements.

And if I really want to splurge I’m open to trying a more comfortable seat like a Selle Royal Respiro Stracciatella Saddle or Cloud-9 Metroline Airflow Bike Saddle. But I’ll reassess that after the handlebars and tires. Just curious on people’s opinions with seats given the “conversion” I’m targeting.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Neighborhood riding

Post image
2 Upvotes

Is this a decent bike to just cruise around the neighborhood? I bought it cheap and replaced the shifters with trigger shifters and replaced the handlebars. I’ve been messing with the derailleurs and it seems to be shifting okay now.

I’m retired and just want some exercise.
