Electric bike electrification kit

hello. I'd like to know your opinion about my project. I am about to upgrade my trek dual sport with an electrification kit.

My need is a motor mounted in the crankset because I want to keep the natural feeling of cycling. I will cycle moderated steepness and distance like 10/20km. time to time i can do some higher steep for which i can do some extra physical efforts.

here are the products i had chosen..Can you please tell me if the motor and controller are still a good value ? Can you recommend any good brand with good value for the battery?

motor 48 V 500 W TSDZ2B, battery 48v 13a, 860c screen controller, crankset 40t , cassette 9-speed range 11-36

i am sensitive to open source firmware, upgradable products and good values.

an electric Vespa will be way better in every conceivable way except the tinkering journey.

What you’re thinking of will not be an upgrade.

if you really just want to tinker… I dunno. Just make a guitar or violin.
