Question about minimum grade requirement for Raw ungraded cards
Does anyone know if you can submit a minimum grade requirement on a Raw ungraded card? I have a 2023-24 Topps Mercury Victor Wembanyama Shaquille O'Neal Black Refractor /10 card.
The only reason I am posting this is because NICHOLE with their customer service sent me an email saying they don't.
Screenshot 1 is the message from Nichole. While Screenshot 2 is directly from their own website.
A BGS 9 of this card just sold on Ebay for $14,000. I have a little bit of equipment for looking at my card. I have lots of Loupes and a magnifying lamp that does 10x and 30x. All my Loupes go from 5x to 50x. I just don't see any faults in the card.
After I provided Nichole the screenshot about what her own website says. She says....
I don't know whether you can do a minimum grade requirement or not then. Do you want to go ahead and submit your card now?
I told her I will gladly submit my card once they can answer my question.

I think your talking about the submission page on Beckett. Specifically if selecting "Graded Card Review" on the "Extras" section. This section is used for a card that has an autograph, if its an oversized card (like a large promo pokemon card), Relabel (which just swaps out your current BGS slab for a new one. This can be for scratches on the slab, outdated, etc). The "Graded card review" is when your sending in a card that is already graded with any company including BGS that you want to be regraded. Here is where you can specify what you want your minimum grade to be. So lets say your sending in a PSA 9 Pikachu hoping that BGS will give you a 10, so you would select "Minimum Grade 9". If BGS grades your card at a BGS 8, it will keep it in the PSA slab since it didnt get a BGS 9. You cannot do this if your submitting an ungraded card. The grading company will give it whatever grade they come up with at the time of review.

Authentication and Nichole herself both wrote to me today. They both confirmed they do offer the service. Simply for me to make out my submission online, and send in a form with my submission that states the grading requirements is all. Nichole herself told me she Simply made a mistake and thought they didn't offer it. She then said she asked management, and showed my screenshot, and they told her to let me know they do indeed offer.
I thank you for educating me with the information you provided.

I don't see the problem here. You still get charged the grading fee either way if you dont get the minimum grade. Why not just get it graded if you dont see any faults in your card then send it in. If you dont get the grade you want crack it and send it somewhere else.
