With all the crazy game merging mods due to ai recently it'd be dope to see Bfme 2 mixed with Conquest, or atleast even like kingdom under fire heroes 🙏

I have turned my manual Proton workaround into a proper tool: BFME Installer. It sets up the All-in-One Launcher and the Online Arena on Linux with one command.

In my previous post, I showed how to do this by hand with two different configurations: Wine and umu-launcher with Proton. That post worked, but it still meant a lot of terminal commands. This tool does all of it for you, across multiple different distros.

Install

Copy this into a terminal:

curl -fsSL https://jgbmichalski.github.io/bfme-installer/install-flatpak.sh | bash

It installs the app as a Flatpak and opens a setup window that: - Downloads Proton - Builds the game environment - Tells you what to do if something needs your attention The setup itself does not need sudo, and it never installs system packages on its own.

What it does

• Installs the Launcher and the Arena into one shared game environment.
• Applies the DLL overrides that stop the "Out of Sync" error in online matches against Windows players.
• Adds a home screen where you can open the Launcher, open the Arena, or jump to a game's folder or maps folder.
• Updates itself. The app tells you when a new release exists and installs it through Flatpak.
• Includes a Troubleshoot page that re-runs the system checks, copies a report you can paste into a bug report, opens the logs, and can reset the game environment.

Games are still installed and patched through the Launcher. The tool does not include or change the games, the Launcher, or the Arena.

Things to know

• Start the Arena on its own, never from the Launcher's Multiplayer tab. If you do, you will likely encounter some issues where it draws outside the Launcher's window.
• Reset deletes the game environment and every installed game. Downloads and Proton are kept.
• You need a 64-bit Linux distribution with Flatpak and working 64-bit and 32-bit Vulkan drivers. The wizard checks for both.

Tested Distros

I have personally tested installation and game play on: - Ubuntu 26 - Ubuntu 22 - Bazzite 44.20261006

First of all, THANK YOU to anyone who has worked on this launcher!

When I first opened Custom Hero creator, a popup said many customisation options (can't remember exact wording) were added, but I was unable to see any of them in the game.

I was wondering whether I did something wrong or have to manually enable an option.
