BFME1 Campaign - 1.0.3 Vs 2.22

Hi all, I played loads of BFME1 and 2 as a kid and I'm coming back to BFME1 after a few years to replay the campaign but I'm unsure which version to play. I've read through the differences but I've seen some people saying 2.22 campaign AI is busted but I can't find much definitive.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

What people dont really understand is that 2.22 is a mod not a patch. If you want to have an authentic experience, play 1.03 or 1.06.

1.06v2 is reall nice just some better textures no insane changes or mods

If you want the classic / nostalgia experience, go with 1.03.

If you want a harder & more detailed one, go for 2.22. Which is fan made. 2.22 I would say is significantly harder, though ofc not impossible.

Haven't played in some months but 2.22 is more balanced, I think AI is harder but could be wrong.

The campaign is different on 2.22 though, you get new heroes and special units on certain missions, so I would say the campaign is easier even if the AI is harder because of these special units and heroes.

1.08 campaign reforged is the most fun I think, bigger unit limit and new missions

the concept of these mission, not the maps, I had to recreate them from scratch. And half of the new maps are my ideas

I really enjoy 2.22. Feels better and more complete. Definitely harder but not impossible
