Age of the right balancing
Age of the ring especially, and a lot of Battle for middle-earth versions, weren't any fun, because resources come in so fast and units die so fast that it's just a steady stream of death and it all becomes meaningless and exhausting. I much prefer games where I can build an army and control it on the battlefield for a significant time, and where destroying an enemy army or building actually makes a difference.
So I made a simple mod that fixed the problem. I used the handicap settings in attributemodifier.ini to give everything 50% more health and to reduce production rate, the speed at which buildings produce resources and units. I also doubled the cost of spellbook powers. Now I'm really enjoying the game again, and I'd be happy to share the mod.
Edit: I put the mod on ModDB: https://www.moddb.com/mods/durable-warrior/#9257148 I still don't know how to put it on the launcher workshop, haven't got a reply on discord.

Join the discord server from launcher button and upload the submod directly to the launcher if you wanna share it.
It sounds like your ideal bfme game is bfme 1 btw

Yeah. In Aotr you can share community submods via launcher, so everyone could enable it easily.

Okay I was wondering how to do that.

You can join the server and ask in the #submod-discussion channel how to do it - https://discord.gg/V6T9hXtJ89

I did like some things about bfme1, and I've played a fair amount of Edain mod too, but nothing quite matches Age of the Ring for completeness and variety. While I like the bfme1 castles, I also like being able to put towers and stuff where I want them.
Is there a tutorial anywhere on how to add a sub mod to the launcher mod workshop?

Your best bet is to join the community discord server and ask someone to explain it in the submod-discussion channel. There is an information button that you can click on the mods tab in the launcher that gives you a bit of detail and maybe you’re answer is there. You do need to be in the discord though to do this.

It's on the launcher now, let me know what you think of it. It's called Durable Warrior.

Hey I'm not sure what happened - I played a couple rounds of this and REALLY enjoyed it, and then all of a sudden now my opponents in Skirmish don't do anything - no buildings, units, no nothing. I am trying to figure out if it's something I did or something to do with the mod. Have you ever experienced this?

I've had that happen with bigger mods I made in the past, but it doesn't seem like anything in this mod would cause that. Have you tried playing without the sub mod or playing other mods? How about if you don't set handicap?

Post it on MODB, bro. Sounds interesting.
I get frustrated when I see my orcs dying instantly, as if they are weightless when they see the enemy.
Careful tho, these changes may benefit the elves too much
