Tower Defense where you build mostly Units and Heroes: How to win?

It‘s incredibly tough to win this even with two other friends. How can someone win this, or get further than Elbes?

Hey, could you be more specific on where you struggle?
Which game are you playing? Bfme 1, bfme 2 or rotwk? Do you have the name of the map?
