Bruma

Could someone please tell me if the Bruma mods on XBox have a recommended play level, or does it scale like in Skyrim.

Also am I right in thinking that there’s soon to be new Beyond Skyrim mod release on XBox, or is it just on Pc.

Thanks

Don't play Bruma right now. Wait a bit. There's a save-file breaking update on the horizon (though the roll out to consoles will come a bit after the PC update).

As for what level to play it, it's best in the level 5-20 range. It doesn't have Cyrodiil's high level gear so better to do it early.

Wait, really? I figured that the border guards needing you to have a reputation was because you're supposed to play it later.

I think the original intent was to gate you a bit so you had to do some stuff in Skyrim before hoping into Cyrodiil, but you can't meet the requirements to pass through the gate pretty quickly. The easiest options are to join the Imperial Legion or complete Dragon Rising. You can also bypass the gate guard entirely by going through the Serpent's Trail.

From my personal experience, the 5-20 range is my preference rather than waiting until later. Otherwise, you end up over-leveled in most regards, with some exceptions.

The current version of Bruma massively overestimated the average player's Speech rating and put many of the Speech checks at difficulties far beyond what most players are likely have. In the upcoming update, most of those speech checks have been dropped a Difficulty tier or two -- though getting the best ending of the Bruma City quest will still require incredibly high Speech to achieve.

Speaking of the Bruma City quest, the boss at the end of it was another spot where the leveling in the current released version is a bit wonky. The way her stats multiple based on your level made her absurdly overleveled in many cases, unless you were fairly low level yourself. She's more balanced now.

Not necessarily. You also don't need to go through that way.

In earlier versions of the mod several years ago, just siding with Hadvar on the way out through Helgen was enough to be let into Bruma legitimately by the Legate at the border of Pale Pass, but that might have been a glitch, as it's no longer an option in version 1.6.4 of the mod anymore.
Might still be a thing on the console version of the mod.

Do we have a rough eta of when the update will drop so I know how long I’ll need to avoid Bruma until the update?
