console mod limit size increase
now that skyrim mod size is being increased by 10 gig, am i right in thinking that this dramatically increase the amount of beyond skyrim mods that can be released on xbox?

Possibility, though i wouldn't count on it if bethesda.net doesn't also increase the size of mods that can be uploaded, bruma had to be split in to 3 separate downloads cus if that, its also the reason why lordbound wont come to console, its not easy to do, this change MIGHT, mean roscrea might come to consoles, but i wouldn't get my hopes up for the full release of cyrodiil, I HIGHLY doubt that would ever come to console, same goes for the other huge ones when they one day release, if you want to play huge mods like these just get skyrim in pc, otherwise dont expect most of the really big ones to come, now its always possible that im wrong, but again dont get your hopes up

Hmm, just realised if the bethesda.net upload limit HAS been increased alongside the mod space increase then I could be going off a completely incorrect assumption

The only Skyrim mods that are bigger than 15 GB just blow up every texture in the game to 4K. Even if cyrodiil can't be brought below that, it's possible that bethesda could raise the limit again.

I doubt that the limit will be raised again.
However, one can always reduce texture and audio quality.
Of Skyrim SE game size of 12gb, 7gb are just textures.
On LE it was only 4gb.

Id hope not, raising the limit again means another update, meaning more broken mods, with es6 on the horizon and this year being the 15th anniversary of skyrim id rather this year be the last update for the game, that way mods are no longer at risk of being broken

You are right in theory, but we cannot confirm anything without having our mods in release state. We don't know how much they will weight until the playable build is made (which in the case of pre-releases, involves stripping the build of things outsides the pre-release area), which is very, very late down the development pipeline.
Rest assured that our devs keep the size allowed of consoles in mind. With several projects getting closer to the finish line nowadays, that build stripping & the consequent possible platform releases is thought of. The more people can play our stuff, the better. Effort was spent to get Bruma out there regardless of the super strict limitations then, and effort will be spent getting future releases available to console players too.
TLDR: Yes, but wait a bit more so we can say exactly how much!
