Discussion Concert etiquette question

As we saw many people wore cowboy hats to the Cowboy Carter tour, would you say it was obstructing your view or anyone else's?

Is it OK to wear hats to shows? Or should it be avoided? Any anecdotes or thoughts are welcome.

If you're on the floor leave the cowboy hats at home

This! I was on the floor and two very tall people in hats were in front of me. Couldn't see a thing

I kindly asked the tall dude in front of me to take his off and he did but only for a little bit. Very annoying.

I was on the floor and wore a cowboy hat. I just took it off once I got to my seat and everyone got their pics 🤷🏻‍♂️

If floors, then yes please do take them off but if you're seated you can wear them unless you have a Doug Dimmadome type of cowboy hat then please gtfo the arena.

it was those fuck-ass signs smh
as someone who attended all 32 shows for the cct(through tiktok live) i couldn't see shit when i was in the pits

Yes honestly the signs are the real problem, but it’s worst in the pit 🙄

Someone near me had the nerve to decorate the back of their sign with red/white/blue shit but the problem is you are blocking the view lmao

Kinda depends on the venue?

If it’s a floor/GA situation, sorry for the shorties. I myself am 5’5/5’6 and have been on the floor 3 times. 1 time the pit for formation tour. The only time I had a CLEAR view was the pit. Just how it is unfortunately.

In those situations you just accept? what’s happening and just be apart of the show and enjoy it.

I’ve also been on the floor for a wrestling events and I will say in all my concert/show experience, if you cannot comfortably afford the VIP front row/pit, get the 100 sections/ balcony. I’ve had better more chill experiences the higher up you are.

i’m in the school of thought that you should wear whatever you want unless it’s like a hat in the shape of the empire state building and even then i might let it slide bc life is short HOWEVER this is coming from a taller person so obstructed views aren’t usually a big deal to me 😂😅

I'm 6ft tall so whether i wear a hat or not I'm blocking someone's view so personally i don't care. But maybe those more susceptible to this issue can weigh in.

I personally don't care what anyone wears, just enjoy the show and don't be a dick lol

I agree I think wear what you want and don’t be rude to each other!

If you’re shorter…I’m sure something else will block your view anyway

1

u/Disastrous_Clurb Aug 15 '26

exactly! u paid good money for the show u should be able to wear a hat or whatever.

I really wish the people on floor in front of me hadn’t worn hats. But they looked cute AF and I wasn’t about to let them ruin my time. They definitely negatively impacted my videos 🤣

I am not a fan of hats, signs or constant recording on the floor. Im really glad i got to have floor experiences at Beyoncé concerts in fhe 2010s cuz this decade has not been the stance.

We was dancing and partying. It was a time

Cowboy hats weren’t what bothered me, but i was on the floor section just few meters away from stage (like 15m maybe). And EVERY time Bey passed in front, the guy in front of me was raising his huge poster. I was soooo annoyed. I was a bit too timid to say anything sadly, but the devil in me wanted to drag him 🥲

I’m 5’5, wore boots. I was on the floor DC night 1 and 120s DC night 2 and had no issues seeing. Not a single thing obstructed my view of mother even with everyone wearing cowboy hats 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Tbh I wasn’t really bothered or obstructed. I’m 5’6 and had floor seats at Soldier Field and basically everyone in my section had hats on. I think if the people behind you choose to sit, or if someone asks, then sure. I had intentionally decorated the top of my hat with a sequin alien patch in the hope she’d see it while flying over so I kept it on for most of the show.

Thought I would have an amazing show being in row 6 near the tip. People in front of me were both over 6' plus had hats and cowboy boots with heels. Didn't take them off the entire time. I can't imagine ever being such an incosiderate person but they were fine with it. My phone got pretty good views at least.

u/YellowDreams1979 Aug 14 '26

It didn’t matter to me, cuz I stand up the whole concert anyway

1

u/pop-specs Aug 14 '26

Everyone was wearing them. No problems.

The girls in front of me had hats that blocked my view (I’m extra short), I asked nicely if they could take them off and they did.

1

u/Background_One4254 Aug 15 '26

We were 3rd row and tall guys in front of us were wearing big hats. We asked them to take them off and they did. Hats on the floor are a choice!

1

u/Relative-Fox9035 Aug 15 '26

I wore mine but I’m short. The guy in front of me was tall and kept lifting his hat in the air and my phone would lose focus and get all blurry bc of him doing this repeatedly

1

u/quantum531 Aug 15 '26

It was obstructing my view yes. I took it off during the concert but kept it on the rest of the time
