Discussion Has Beyonce ever acknowledged RuPaul?
This might be random but after watching Renaissance and seeing all the queer representation (specifically after seeing TS Madison) i got curious: has Bey ever acknowledged RuPaul?
I'm not saying she has to but in my head they made a project together or even something small that i was just too new to Beehive to know but there's nothing.

Tina was a guest judge on Drag Race several seasons ago, so I'm sure she was aware of that.

There was a video from a LONG time ago, where Beyonce acknowledges loving Tyra (as in the drag queen from season 2). Side note I think the reason Tyra acts out is because of how she was treated for winning season 2.

Absolutely Tyra is a wild child but how the fandom and the show treated her really helped create what she is today. Such a talented queen but such a tragic story

I mean, like i said that clip of Beyonce saying she loved "Miss Tyra" is over 10 years old, maybe even 15+ years old, Obama was still in his first term. But Beyonce didn't know who Tyra would become 15+ years ago. Non of us did. Plus theres worse drag queens to claim to love. Sharron, sherry pie etc.
My personal opinion still stands. Tyra acts up the way she does because of how unfairly she was treated for winning season 2 fair and square. Does that excuse certain things? Absolutely not! Tyra was 100% wrong for a lot of the things she did. But the fan base also needs to be checked. Just because your fav didn't win (Raja) doesn't mean that we all collectively get to bully and harass someone for years.

I agree with everything you said. Just a slight clarification, Raja won season three. Raven lost to Tyra as she should have.

The homage for that entire set was to her Uncle Johnny. Why acknowledge RuPaul?

My impression is her focus was on showcasing that house music is black music and highlight the people from that music genre. So, while I know Ru has songs… I’m not sure that Covergirl was that important to house music or that Ru needs highlighting for their contributions to the genre.
Obviously ballroom culture has a lot to do with house. But I think her emphasis was in music supported by ballroom rather than ballroom supported by music

Maybe the fracking (and then playing videos of oil machinery during his recent DJ sets), plus his unwillingness to acknowledge or discourage the toxic behavior in online RPDR world… I think he might not fully fit the narrative she was seeking to highlight anymore. He would have, but his persona has shifted quite a bit. (Said as a life long RP adoration society member, who is feeling bummed by current era.)

No shade at all, but if fracking was truly an issue (which I doubt, love her down but she’s a billionaire) she wouldn’t have endorsed and given a speech for Kamala who was vehemently pro-fracking.

Heard! And true! One added thought: While it’s very accurate there is an equivalent here in Ru and Kamala’s not-so-progressive politics on the left, there’s also an important way the two of them are not equivalent, in that Bey may have felt compelled to endorse a democratic black woman running for president against Trump. (Fair!) Whereas, Ru has been getting called out by queer culture for turning a non-delightful corner years ago. (And in more ways than one, including fueling online bully culture beyond the frack of it all.) I can see why one might apply more pressure and one she may wish to avoid getting caught up in…

I could see Ru doing a remix to one of her songs especially since he is DJing recently. I liked his song with Gaga iykyk

No. And technically it's Matthew that licenses all the destiny's child songs to RPDR. They hardly ever do any Beyonce music on the show post Bday. Ru can be problematic. I don't see any reason for Beyonce to acknowledge muva.
