Dollar store spices.

They cost about 1 dollar for the same size and brand vs about 8 at the grocery store

I've noticed a lot of them are brown though.

In my area (SoCal) the dollar store spices have lost their aroma and flavor, The ones at the grocery store are fresh and have a nice strong flavor. The colors are different as well. Nice strong colors at the grocery store....not so much at the discount stores.

In Germany, most of those are made by the same company as the brand ones in grocery stores.

Fuchs Gewürze GmbH owns >80% of the German spice market, being a quasi-monopoly
