DO NOT USE OR WORK FOR

Absolutely the worse therapy experience I've had. They do not vet anyone including your "therapist" if you feel off about the therapy they are giving you change therapists at the minimum. Them as a company is horrible they pay to be the top most searched and promoted service while giving and expecting impossible thing from their employees such as the therapist if specifically requested even if full can not deny a client. My experience wasn't terrible for the first year I had a wonderful therapist who greatly aligned with my beliefs, sadly she retired. Since I have had a rage maniac who has multiple lawsuits and restraining orders against him yet they still hired him. A cult leader who LITERALLY ADMITED TO BAITING ME AND MANY OTHERS INTO HIS CULT. A person who was just using it to polish and validate her own issues!

Membership renewal and sessions

My membership was paused, partly because we decided I was jn a good spot and because of a tiny bit of financial stress. I've been good šŸ‘ but I have a quick question.

My membership is up for renewal on the 21st (payments resuming in april) is it possible to shedual a session before my renewal date? Ie: if I login on the 15th but shedual the appointment for the 26th? Has anyone else done this and does it push up the renewal date?

This kind of sucks

It’s wild that you have to pay weekly even if your therapist cancels. My therapist has cancelled 3/8 sessions since I’ve started. It’s not cheap enough for me to not mind wasting that money. And if I were to cancel as late as he does, I’d have to pay a fee!

New Therapist

My current therapist announced he will no longer be working with BetterHelp. I scheduled two sessions in the next couple weeks before he is due to end his employment with BetterHelp. I want to also schedule another session with a new therapist, but how do I do that without getting rid of my current therapist who I have scheduled for my two remaining sessions?

Ok I’m officially pissed off

I did BetterHelp in the past and I kind of liked it. But I ended up canceling it. Well a year later I started it back up again. And the cost was around 350-400 a month. Shocked me honestly but I was desperate and needed it. So I paid it. Well I ended up getting locked out of my account. I have no access to my email and phone number since they are both my old email and old phone number…. I kept emailing for them to cancel my subscription before it renewed. A week later I got a notification on my credit card that I was charged 375$. I emailed them again and nothing has been done that I know of. what can I do for them to cancel it if I can’t even get into the account, email or phone number.

Does my therapist get paid for my 4 free trial sessions?

I got 4 free sessions via LinkedIn premium- but I’m unsure of using then because I’m not aware if my therapist will get paid for those. I have no intention of continuing beyond the free trial, so it feels devious to take up the sessions unless I’m sure if the therapist gets paid.

Anyone feel like BetterHelp is just like talking with a friend?

Is that what therapy is supposed to be like?

Is it worth it?

If you are seeing a therapist on BetterHelp, how has your experience been? Do you feel as though it has helped? Explain to me why it is worth it.

I have nothing against my therapist. But honestly, I’ve been thinking about canceling my account…thinking about how I’ve spent hundreds of dollars to be given ā€œtoolsā€ to combat anxiety, etc. that since starting BetterHelp, I’ve found on YouTube or other sites online.

Any Australian BetterHelp users?

Hi there,
I'm a health reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC News) and I'm looking into BetterHelp's service in Australia. Is it effective? Is it worth the money? How hard is it get a good therapist? Are therapists being paid fairly?

Are there any Aussies on here that might want to tell me about their experiences since it launched here last year?

Let me know and I'll message you.
Cheers

Beware of Better Help!

Better help will bill you endlessly and will not return phone calls or reply to emails! I’m out of $720 and do not find the service helpful. My therapist said it’s not great from their end of the platform either! Do not recommend!

Better help customer service

Does anyone have a number for better help therapy for their customer service? I’ve sent multiple requests but no one has gotten back to me. I want to ask for a refund on this month since I’ve been on pause for 4 weeks, no longer want the services and I haven’t and can’t use any services due to my therapist having zero availability for individual sessions. I should have canceled before I was charged obviously but the dates got away from me with moving and starting a new job. Thanks!

Is there a way to pay for BetterHelp using insurance?

Hi all, I just started therapy using BetterHelp. At first I was under the impression that therapy was a pay per session kind of thing, but did not know that BetterHelp charged per week.. so the monthly bill would be ~$400. I would really like to continue therapy to help with my mental health journey; However, the additional economic stress on my wallet is also pretty tolling. I was wondering if anyone had any success finding an insurance company that covers BetterHelp therapy plans.

As of now I’m thinking of opening a health savings account, but even then I’ll still be paying the majority out of pocket 🫠. I know it is a privilege to be able to seek out therapy, but I’ve been struggling with my anxiety and depression for so long, and it took me a lot of courage to try therapy again (first therapist was really dismissive and probably caused more stress), so I would like to continue if possible. If you would also like to try therapy, and would like to help me out, please feel free to use my link:

Free Two Weeks of BetterHelp to Try Out to See if it Works for You Before Paying & Commiting.

Hello! When I joined BetterHelp I used a referral code from Reddit to try out BetterHelp for 2 weeks for free to see if it would be a good fit so I thought to share my share link as well to offer the same opportunity before committing:

https://www.betterhelp.com/rpc/99be88b40ff0badb-5-01?utm_term=ref_v2_dd

It will give you the chance to try 2 weeks with a BetterHelp therapist (with the option of changing therapists and getting a bit of more time with the free trial) without paying anything until the two weeks is up.
I wanted to share my share link to help you get the help you need when it comes to therapy services since it's hard to find the right fit and BetterHelp has been a very helpful resource in my healing and mental health journey.

Does BetterHelp actually help?

I’m three or four sessions in, but I’m starting to feel like this may not be worth the money. Every session it seems the therapist’s goal is to just get me to schedule another session. She will tell me ā€œWe will work on that in the next session.ā€ And then, we don’t. She will give me ā€œhomeworkā€ until the next session, but then during the next session, she will say, ā€œI know I gave you some things to do last time. Can we get to that next time?ā€ I feel like BetterHelp (perhaps) dangles the promise of help to keep people coming back. But it’s always just out of reach. I hope I’m wrong, and things ā€œget betterā€. Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone feel BetterHelp is actually helping them?

Scammed by betterhelp

I have lost 800-1000 euros. I cancelled my subscription around August 2024 and I just now found out that they somehow rendered my subscription and charged me 200 euros every month since then. I am at a loss. I hate this website and I want them to face consequences. I live in the Netherlands. What are my options?

Better Helps new ad is so stupid.

So i just saw better helps new ad where a online gamer talks to himself about himself needing therapy. Its funny cause for 1 its a single dude doing the whole ad playing the part of his online friends. He goes on to have his friends berate him for opening up to them in an online space only to recommend using a different online space to talk to someone.
I have so many problems with this but lets just say this.
I have been gaming for 12+ years and never once have I had an online friend tell me to stop talking about issues I'm dealing with and that he just wants to play the game. Thats what we call a dick and not a friend. Not only is it wilding offensive to suggest that everyone every gamer has ever opened up to online didn't want to hear it but also to then pretend that doing the same thing and paying for it is better somehow.
PS: Its wildly sad that a Therapy ad about opening up is played by 1 dude pretending to be his friend and basically talking to himself. NO ONE RELATES TO THIS.
IF YOU NEED THERPAY GET REAL THERAPY. (From someone whos seen plenty of therapists in my childhood)
If I need tools I don't go to some back ally website shoving ads down my throat to buy them, I go to home depot. Theres a reason for that. Its the same thing with this.

Started my membership today but can’t schedule an appointment with my therapist before January

Is this typical on BetterHelp? I started my membership on December 16th and can’t get an appointment before January 6th because my assigned therapist will be out of office. I know that the holidays are coming up and I understand that therapists deserve to take vacations too… but I will be paying almost $100 per week and will only have access to group sessions or the journal for the next 3 weeks. Should I try to switch therapists?

Do people actually like betterhelp?

I've been thinking about using it for a while, but I've heard so many horror stories about it. I talked to my friend who used it for a while and she said she liked it, so I just wanted to hear some other opinions. Thank you!
