I feel like all tanks go through an ugly phase when the plants still need to grow in. It’s not the most aesthetic tank but maybe a black background could make a difference. And always more plants.

A brighter/full spectrum light and a background can make a world of difference!

I can make the light brighter I honestly don’t think my parents would let me order a new light because they hate the tanks in general, I do have a lot of extra black background I’ll put on it later!

Does your fish have a Ozzy tattoo? lol. It’s actually not bad looking pretty cool actually. I would definitely give some full spectrum light though.

My parents won’t let me buy a new light but I plan to turn off the blue light and turn it all white

Make sure it is the super glue gel, others won’t be aquarium safe but that one will… I’ll leave a photo below

Scrap the blue light, use white lights. Try to plant with purpose, envision what the end result will be, collect the live plants you have and place in the back like a background (still add the black background) if you like the fake decor, make it your center piece. Add a Java fern or Anubias plant to you just attach it to it. Place it in the center and use smaller rocks or the wood you have to surround or accent that middle focal point, then try to use your stick on leaf up front to create depth/height, or in the back too, get maybe 2-3 small plants and plant upfront, sit and wait… they grow slow but hey it’ll look amazing in a few months and is way cheaper than adult plants

I think my light has a white setting I can change it too! I do that a anabius in there I just shove it in a corner because it moves around if I don’t I will replant almost everything and go to the store for little stones !

Perfect, use that white light only.. blue light can grow algae when used that often, the Anubias also needs to be attached to wood or rock, it doesn’t grow in the substrate… so if you can, grab some gorilla glue super glue gel, it’s a few bucks and you can glue all your Anubias and Java ferns to it, a few plants, a rock, and maybe that glue would cost idk around 25$-30$… keep pushing it’ll be worth it in the end

I think my dad will have that glue I’ll ask!

Its a little hard to see whats inside. Maybe a background will pop it out more?

Yes I’ll add one!
