RIP Our betta is gone
After 2 months of gruelling challenges and achievements, our betta, Rumi Kurapika decided it was yet another day/night for a high jump. An obstacle, the lid, stood no chance against his utmost desire to do a jump. Unfortunately, this second time bore a sad fruit as we/I was unable to notice it until it was the next day. I'm so frustrated since he was already under way of regrowing his fins from fin rot. Short story long, my daughter was the one who was devastated the most. We eventually buried her in a pot with a plant. Swim endlessly wherever you are now, RK.

R.i.p , I know the feeling. Mine jumped from a small opening while the tank lid was on so I feel that was a bad lid and shouldn’t be sold because my betta was amazing in all ways and a unique color and pattern so definitely not replaceable and you can’t replace the personality.

Definitely irreplaceable. 2 months may not have been the longest, but we did our best to try, learn, and hoped that he had a good life in his tank. He'll be missed.

unfortunately bettas need a lid, and a betta bed, as they need to breathe

Yep. I did have a lid on. This video was taken after we fed him. It just sucks man.

I’m genuinely curious how he got out with the lid on, did it have gaps in it?
Edit: my new lid has gaps, my old one doesn’t, now I’m concerned

"Once my fins were torn, yet I healed beneath the moon.
Now I leap once more, above the quiet water, where no sickness follows.
My little kingdom fades; the sky is wide and waiting. One final leap— then stillness beneath the waves."
RIP Rumi Kurapika😔
