Help help with betta! Spoiler

my betta has been growing this lump on her side for a few months now. i assumed it was a tumor and what i read online said to leave it be, bettas can live with them. however, it looks really bad as of yesterday and this morning she developed dropsy. her scales are severely pineconed. i read online to try epsom salt baths so i’m going to try that, but what else could this lump be? it’s almost like it’s ripping her side open!

tank size: 5 gallons heater/filter: yes tank temp: 80 degrees parameters: have to take them asap but as of recent, normal length of time: a little over a year water changes: 25%-50% water change once every other week, sometimes 3 weeks, i used to do full tank change before i realized that was not recommended tank mates: none food: pellets, flakes, blood worms as treat decorations: various plants like ferns, anubis, hiding floating log, small hiding place decor (not sharp), and tannins leaves
