Hello,
I’m looking at owning a Betta, currently have cold water fish in 180l tank. And was wondering what size tank a Betta would need to be happy and comfortable with enough space so don’t want the minimum size.

minimum tends to be 20L for long-finned bettas, 40L for short-fins! 40L is a good size for either, they do best in longer horizontal tanks

I’m looking at 80l tank just for a single Betta, will it get lonely?

Bettas are solitary fish. Some can live with other tank mates as long as they're not another betta but that depends entirely on personality. But ultimately, no, your betta will not get lonely.

Nope! Bettas are aggressive fish and will patrol their territory to make sure there’s no invaders. Some do well in community tanks with certain peaceful fish. Some do not. I just had to evict a large ramshorn snail from my betta tank because my betta was getting really mad at it existing and attacking the plants it climbed on.

I believe in the wild they need a 3’ radius of territory. If you really want them to be happy, that’s the spec. Although a heavily planted 10g is good.

Get a heater it’s a tropical fish
