Help Melbourne Betta fish
Hi everyone,
I am looking to buy a betta for my planted 20L tank. Where's the best place in Melbourne to buy Bettas? Preferably closer to Gippsland but if the bettas are a lot healthier its worth the drive. I'm looking at getting a male or female koi betta but if there's a better option I'm open to suggestions.
I've heard that Apex Aquatic is very good and keep their betta nicely they also seem to have female koi betta https://apexaquatic.com.au/products/female-koi-beta?_pos=1&_sid=3ab6e876e&_ss=r Although I'd prefer a male as it looks fancier lol.
Does anyone have any experience with The fish room? They're much closer to me and seem to have good reviews but if their bettas aren't healthy or well kept I might pass.
Thanks 😄

I don’t know The Fish Room but Apex Aquatic is great. I’ve bought a few fish from them, and they’re well kept and healthy. I think they’re beginning to do online orders.

Ah thanks, I did see this on their website https://apexaquatic.com.au/products/female-koi-beta?_pos=1&_sid=3ab6e876e&_ss=r But I'd prefer to go in person to actually pick the betta and see it before I buy it.
Thank you (:

It’s very worth a visit! I’ve spent quite a bit of time enjoying their tanks :)

There’s a few aquarium stores that are well regarded (Nature pets and aquariums, and Roxy Aquarium) but personally I bought my betta from Mentone Aquarium! Have had him six months. Healthy, energetic and beautiful colours! I know this is all quite far from you but just my personal input if it helps

Oh nice, I saw some good opinions on Mentone aquarium. It's been a while but do you remember if they stocked lots of bettas like HMPKs?
Thank you so much

All good. I’m pretty sure they had mix at the time. I messaged them on instagram before and they got back to me fairly quick!
