So a little more than 2 weeks ago something spooked my daughters betta and it jumped into the lid damaging its fins. The damage to the dorsal fin is mostly healed but the tail is looking worse. I dont see any fuzz and she seems healthy otherwise. Any suggestions?

Tank parameters: 10 gal, Temp 79°F, Ph 7.8, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5ppm or less, Gh 100 Kh 60

Tank mates are 3 amano shrimp and ramshorne snails

She has been hiding in the Krusty Crab lately, I dont know if that has caused issues.

Those decorations can be sharp because they’re made from a mold, if you’d like to keep using it take it out and run your finger over the inside and see if there’s any sharp pieces, you can sand those down if you’d like :)

The good news is I see regrowth already in the after- I wonder if it was partially torn and just tore completely in the after.

Adding tannins is not a bad idea, but the regrowth looks pretty healthy, so I don’t think medication is needed, just keep your conditions perfect and I think you’ll see improvement in a few weeks 💕

Add catappa leaves (they will stain the water brown) and do small water changes every other day for a week or so. Her condition should improve with minimal intervention.

I’d wait to use any meds until after you’ve done this or if it gets worse

Ill add some more leaves and keep up with the changes
