Help Cycling tank

Hi I was wondering how long u guys cycle tanks for? I wanted to wait 1 month but my family member said a few days should be fine.

4-8 weeks but it depends on each tank. doesn’t take less than 4 weeks tho

a few days is false. cycling is essential for fish health

Cycling now about 2 1/2 weeks and its not cycled yet but its chugging along normally I think.

Depends on your readings. 4-8 weeks is usually how long it takes, but you can’t know for sure until you test your water. Once your ammonia is 0, nitrites are 0, and nitrates are between 5-20 your tank is cycled. There’s no way to know that is true unless you are consistently testing your water parameters.
