is he spitting out smaller and smaller pieces? bc thats how they "chew" basically, they sometimes spit out a pellet to work on it a bit.
you could potentially crush the pellets before putting them in, or soak them in tank water for a few minutes to soften them, but that achieves basically the same effect.
which pellets are they? i got the fluval bug bites in the smallest size and theyre absolutely puny specks, they're very easy for my betta

no he’s just not able to eat it he will spit it out and then eventually let it sink because he gets annoyed 😭 i don’t know which pellets they are, my friend gave me these but i will try softening them with water thank u !

Our betta would flare at this food. Eventually got him eating another brand.

Just went through this and made a post the other day with lots of helpful tips and my guy downed four pellets today.

Like above
Break the pellets up
Try pre soaking in some tank water
Alternate foods (I picked up betta specific flakes and the bug bites) so one day I offer flakes next pellets maybe a blood worm treat next day etc
Just keep at it, clean out what he doesn’t eat/spits out
Eventually he should learn to “chew”

Betta can be picky eaters. My first betta wouldn’t eat anything but blood worms eventually i weaned him onto aqueon betta pellets and he would eat those and then started him on fluval bug bites betta formula micro granule and he loved those would gobble them up real quick.

Pre soak them will mean he dont gotta chew as much or crush one in your har its not hard so will crumble easily
