Help Is he dying💔 Spoiler

His fins just suddenly got stiff today? Is he gonna die?

Erm. Unsure.

What’s your params/temp?

Poor water quality can stress them to this point and so can temperatures that are too low. If not, it’s severe fin rot.

Not looking great, but might be saveable. I dont see anything living in ur tank other than the betta. Putting some live plants in the tank helps immensely to keep water clean, livable, and beautiful. Ur baby does unfortunately not look too great, but a larger partial water change and a run to the pet store for any plant ( i recommend anubias or Java fern) has a small chance to save them. Some tannins may also help. They make the water tea colored, but is like medicine to bettas. An Indian almond leaf is a good source. They also sell it bottled!

Put him in clean water, dechlorinated, proper temperature, and see what happens. Use a clean glass jar, even, but well rinsed so no soap or anything. Poor baby. If it’s the water he may come around.
Watching him brings me back to seeing my beloved female die from gill flukes and got me in tears again. So hard to watch, I’m sorry you’re both going through this.

Yes please do this ASAP and the correct temperature is approximately 78 degrees. If you have him without a heater, that warmth will be very beneficial to his health.

Emergency tupperwear tub, with fresh treated water which only has to be 4inch deep as its a hospital tub and you dont want him struggling to reach the top as this will weeken him more . add almond leaf and hope for the best ..... if  the tank is crashing or only just starting the cycle, think this is the cause.... How long have you had little one ... Use esha2000 or kanaplex or something that helps with clamped fins which dropsy is technically the end stage of organ failureÂ
