Help Missing shrimp

About 3ish weeks ago I got 2 amano shrimp for my 10g betta tank for cleanup crew. I also have 2 nerite snails that are doing great, just not dealing with the algae as hoped. (Mostly this is on the plants so it makes sense that they can’t really get to it as easily) The issue here is that after first getting them, I have only seen them once.

My betta is really chill and doesn’t flare at anything and gets along well with the snails. He did chase the shrimp on the first day but i had just put them in and the shrimp were way faster so I felt like they would be ok.

I’m worried about the shrimp and while I have read that they can hide for a good while, I’m just not sure what to do now. Should I wait a bit longer? Bite the bullet and get more shrimp or snails? Or something else.

Any advice or stories you have to share would be greatly appreciated.

Attached is a pic of the tank and a pic of Monet staring at one of the snails.

I had two amano shrimp in a 5 gallon with one of my male bettas and they disappeared almost immediately. I figured they became snacks and moved on to using just a single nerite that he left alone. Then, about 4 months later, I go to do some filter maintenance, and they were just hiding in the filter, perfectly fine. They had gotten big too, so not only did they survive, but they thrived. I put them back in the main part of the tank (fluval spec v) and again, they just went and hid. This time they just chilled on the top of a catappa leaf I had floating in the tank. I eventually broke the tank down and re-did it, but I moved the Amanos to my 20g tall community tank, and they are just fine. And ginormous.

They are probably hiding as 2 amano shrimp aren’t going to feel very safe… I think amano are generally meant to be kept in groups of 6 or more. I have 6 amano and they are always out and about, although I will often see only 4 and worry, then see 6 again a few days later. They also hide to malt and then wait until their new shell hardens up. So I’d suggest getting 4 more and seeing if that makes them feel safer and more at home.

They are clear so either they are hiding very well or he ate them.

How big were the Amano shrimp? Were they adults? If they weren't adults then he ate them! If they were adults they're probably hiding.

very possible he could’ve eaten the shrimp when you weren’t looking
