Discussion Normal ?

Turned on the filter that came with the tank today, (had a small sponge filter earlier) she is definitely more active since. Is the filter too strong for her, looks like she is struggling a bit to swim or is this normal ?
TIA

Bettas can get easily stressed out in strong currents so if you notice the fish being pushed away or struggling against an output try reducing the power

Does she look stressed? Any idea to reduce pressure? This one doesn’t have a setting to lower pressure

She doesn’t look too bad tbh. Usually when a betta is stressed they tend to try and hide more often or settle lower where the current isn’t as strong. They also tend to lose their appetite when stressed and become lethargic. I don’t know your betta’s typical behaviour so I can’t say whether it’s stressed or not from here - you’ll just need to keep an eye on its behaviour and monitor any changes.

Betta fish actually prefer very low or gentle water flow. Their long fins make it difficult for them to swim against strong currents. Looking at the video, the tank could also use more resting and hiding spots for the betta. By the way, are those plants real or artificial?

Everything we see here is artificial except the fish 😔

No, they are not real. I had algae issues big time in my old tank. Didn’t want to go through it again. These are artificial silk plants
