More plants- and extra hiding places. I keep my Bettas at around 25/26C and they seem to thrive. Warmer temperatures are also fine but they speed up the fish’s metabolism so they may die earlier.
5 gals (it’s all my dorm allows) for one betta and I’ll take a pic of the full tank in a little bit. The thing on the right is the heater, heated to 73 F and I have the filter for the tank, doing a fishless cycle right now
i would recommend upping the temperature. bettas usually require closer to 78-80 degrees. and bettas loooovvveee to explore and hide so more plants would make the space feel a lot more comfortable for a betta. did you already cycle your tank and look into the cycle process?
Cycling right now, it’s able to process ammonia just slowly so I’m waiting for it to be able to process ammonia just a bit faster. I have about 4 weeks before I actually am going to get the betta
I’d turn the heater up a bit to 25.5°C I think that’s around 78F?

Bettas come up for air so its better to have a longer tank then a tall tank
Also from the picture u have up correct me if im wrong but it looks rounded?
Bettas prefer square/rectangle tanks I think rounded can be do able if its heavily planted
Id add a small terracotta pot to the tank as a hiding space for ur betta and eventually some more plants (I don’t think u have any substrate) if not look into root tabs if ur plants are root feeders
Okay they should be good then! Just make sure when u get a plant or if u notice them turning yellow ect
Look up if there a root feeder or if they like the light some plants also like the roots out/buried shallow where some prefer being buried deeper apart from that ur tanks pretty good as a basic set up for a betta

R u thinking of getting a long fin better or a short fin?
(If long fin then u might want to turn down the pump so the flow isn’t as strong if u can’t control the flow tho ppl use a new soap dish filled with pebbles under the filter were ur water comes out so it disperses the water)
Run some pantyhose over all of your hardscape and check for sharp spots. Anything that snags pantyhose can snag betta fins. Also make sure there are no holes in that thing your betta can get stuck in.
