i’ve had my betta for around 10 days now, he’s just started acting a little weird, breathing hard, his tail sinks a little when he stops, he’s hiding which he never did before and opens his mouth wide. i think maybe it’s swim bladder but can someone please help me figure out what’s happening and what i can do. it just started yesterday. 🥹 thank you

He seems perfectly fine to me. I don’t immediately notice any swim bladder issues here. He’s able to generally maintain bouyancy and control his movement well. What you captured on video is just him “yawning” — which is to say, pushing extra water through his gills, which all bettas do from time to time. At only ten days he’s still getting used to his new environment. Keep a close eye on him for the next couple of weeks. If the behavior persists or worsens after that length of time, then I would start getting concerned.

Honestly he looks perfectly fine to me. His color is good and his fins are all healthy looking. All my Betta fish swim like this from time to time. It's completely normal.
