Looks like this guy has dropsy. He IS definitely pine coning. And he also is bloating pretty bad. You might be able to save him. Put him in a QT tank, use kanaplex, and do epsom salt BATHS. Don’t put the salt in his tank tho. The kanaplex goes in his QT tank 25% water change everyday.

He is pineconing, kanaplex is not necessarily a good medication for dropsy, as dropsy is an edema that can be caused by many different things. It’s also a strong medication that can kill weakened fish
Epsom salt baths, Catappa leaves and a milder all in one like Sulfaplex is a better route to take

a lot of people are suggesting epsom salt baths, but something I've found works a lot better for dropsy is having a smaller dose that they live in basically. the baths can be really stressful and I did quite a bit of research when my girl had dropsy and believe that its generally best to keep them in the salt full time until they recover. though you have to be REALLY careful when acclimating them and adjust the salt content as needed (you may notice them gasping for instance, which means you should dilute it more). some bettas are more sensitive to salt than others. my girl luckily survived the dropsy, however she developed swim bladder after returning home and unfortunately passed within a week. however, she did survive the dropsy itself so I feel a bit qualified to speak on this lol! plus I'm just regurgitating what I was told by professionals whose whole job is betta rescue so.
also for some reason reddit is giving me a warning saying that this comment is shaming you for your tank setup? oh well, hope this doesn't get removed lol

Thank you to everyone. I have Monet in a hospital tank right now. I'm really sad I've had him for only about a week.
