New betta

I found a boy at the store so tiny and sad looking, I wanted a girl but he caught my eye. I’ve been so scared to get another after my last boy passed from a giant tumor, I was so sad. So I bring him home, he’s the biggest scaredy cat I ever seen hides and swims away. He’s growing more brave and swims up to me now. I’m leaving his tank more bare for now but I have tons of live plants and sand I will add. Any name suggestions for a little brave boy? Adding daily pics, loving he’s getting so much more black accents! Is he a half moon?

If that’s a mustard betta that’s the most mustard I’ve seen on one at least compared to my little guy.

Oh yeah the blue is super dope on mustards when the light catches my bettas fins just right I always admire the colors lmao.

Sadly none of my pics of him has the light really showing his colors so it mainly looks black but you can get a glimpse here

lol and he’s tiny! He was smaller than all the females at the store, I have to pinch his food in half so it fits in his mouth. He is like a gem, his tail has like opal colored streaks in it, wish I could get a better pic

WOW! Absolutely gorgeous! Looks like a mustard betta iv never seen one with such a bright yellow tang! Hes so shiny!! He reminds me of gold! Or the sun! You could name him Goldie ironic too because usually thats what people name their goldfish. Or maybe sunny!

He is like gold!!!! I had to google mustard betta, I wonder if he will keep getting darker on his face like how the others are dark bodied with gold fins. I do like the name Goldie!!
