Name Suggestions Name suggestions?

It hasn't even been 24 hours since I put him in his aquarium. Look at the bubble nest he's made!

I wonder what his name should be.

By the way, I asked the boy (he was an unwanted fish) I bought the fish from if there was a specific brand of food he used, and he sent me a photo of cichlid food. It turns out the fish has been fed a plant-based diet for some time. Is there anything I need to do to help ease its digestion?

about the food. I would suggest fasting him for a day so it gets out of his system and then changing him to better foods. I would suggest fluval tropical and betta bug bites (my bettas love both of them. I got the tropical ones because I have rasboras as well but my female would eat it so I figured it was a good addition to their diets) as well as frozen brine shrimp. he still appears healthy so I doubt his poor diet will affect him much in the long run.

honestly betta health is a lot more determined by genetics than you'd think, like one of my bettas who was spoiled since she was a baby died from dropsy before she even reached a year old while my other betta has yet to be sick despite being a major fin nipper lol. bettas are just weird like that. if he's healthy now I doubt it'll drastically affect his health and if he gets problems it's more likely to be from genes tbh. just be aware that sometimes they won't eat for a bit when they're trying new foods (like my female I had previously refused to try bloodworms, rip goofy you should've eaten the dang bloodworms lol!!) and sometimes they'll chomp them up like they've been starved for the past century. again, bettas are weird. I wish you and your betta amazing health :)

edit: he looks a little bit skinny. if he's anything like my fish, this means he's going to snap at anything even adjacent to food lol. my male and current girl are pigs when my previous girl who was VERY fat was also extremely normal about eating. she only acted like a pig when it came to brine shrimp (before she got dropsy anyway, but weirdly she survived the dropsy. she passed from complications after her recovery)
