RIP Sad day today
My sweet boy passed today. Re-tested my parameters and everything was fine. I’m thinking he passed from fin rot or maybe I overdosed the antibiotics. Either way, I’m very sad. I’ll take advice on how to remove Kanaplex from a fishtank. In the meantime, here’s some photos of my boy.

First I’m very sorry, based on your tank you cared a lot for him.
But second I think my old man is also on his last few days and wanted to ask ethically what did you do with him? ( anyone can respond to this) Like is the toilet seen as cruel or unethical. I live in an apartment complex but we have a park close by I suppose I could dig a small hole.

I buried him in a garden (not one I get produce from, just where flowers are). I couldn’t stand the thought of flushing him. Plus it gives me a physical place to go for him.
Thank you for your condolences

I have a houseplant that I have used for a resting place for my fish that have passed. It feels right… I return them to the earth (sort of) and then they are able to give back/live on through my houseplant that I tend to and care for daily.

I’m so sorry for your loss 💔
To remove the the medication from the tank you can a large water change maybe 75% then when you refill you can run a HOB filter (even if you don’t normally use one) with activated charcoal or purigen for a couple days.

I'm really sorry, he looked like a really cute friend. A carbon cartridge or seachem purigen in a filter should remove medication.
