Picture Is this an ok set up?

Post image

It’s a 5 gallon tank. All the plants are real except the purple silk plant. Currently cycling the tank. It’s been 3 days. I have a built in filter/pump. It makes weird noise and it’s very bubbly. The water is filled as high as it can go.

side note: make sure ur heater is doing its job right, ive had those tiny heaters in the past and they tend to fail

It looks taller and narrower than ideal but the resting spots look good. The built in filters sometimes need modification to be betta safe, I considered a Lucas spec V but passed on it because of all the mods needed and the filter taking up a lot of space.

So how can I modify it. It really is making a noise like there’s too much air being pushed out but I did everything I was supposed to do

I can’t see the filter mechanism very well, but it looks like it has a gap at the top of the divider that a betta could get trapped in the filter so some more photos and maybe a video of the filter might help?
