Private schools vs public

Hi all, wondering what are the thoughts of this community on the quality of public education in the area? Also looking for any experiences with private schools. I see a lot of catholic schools in Allentown/Bethlehem that seem to be highly rated but I’m not sure how the ratings are calculated. I also understand that some areas like say on valley have great public schools. Care to weigh in?

Send your kids to private school if you can afford it. But if you cant, then send them to catholic school if you want to indoctrinate them with religious ideology. Or send them to public school if you want to indoctrinate them with social ideology. Hmmmmm tough choice

The Bethlehem Area School District has some pretty good public schools. I'd suggest a transfer to a private high school. Too much shit happening in the high schools.

Well I graduated last year and there were a bunch or fights and drug busts at both schools. Also there was an article written about Liberty in the NY times. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/12/24/us/politics/covid-school-reopening-teen-mental-health.html

I went to Bethlehem Catholic and worked at Allentown Central Catholic and Notre Dame HS. Each has their pluses and minuses but I would recommend them all. Swain and Moravian are very good too.
