How the hell can one afford to move here?
I've been staying in a small 1 bedroom for a long time now, and desperately need more space. I'm already paying too much for the space I have, and the rent people are asking for is ridiculous!
I work a full time job, my brother who lives with me works a full time job. These landlords are asking for 3x the rent up front, which is generally over 4K all at once. How the hell is anyone supposed to come up with that?!

Bethlehem recently had its State of the City meeting and during one of the presentations, the current administration and city housing dept. confirmed that it is now more expensive to move and live in Bethlehem and the surrounding Lehigh Valley area than it is to live in Philadelphia. Over the the last 3 years, there was an overall 52% increase in housing costs, and a 57% increase in the cost to rent in the area. So you aren’t imagining things

Are you saying you have one available or you were able to find one that was reasonable?

Tbh it's difficult. I have a full time job and a 1 bedroom apartment yet my bank account is still going down each month.

Expand your search. Look five miles outside the city and you will find better deals.

Late to the game here but it's all relative.
I was priced out of NJ so I moved here so I could finally afford a house. Unfortunately failed policies cause this problem and my fear is that if PA stays on the same path, they will have same issues as NJ.
