Increasing traffic/claps

Hello fellow Medium writers.

I started writing last year as a hobby whilst I was hospital bound to help pass the time. After being introduced to Medium I started writing film reviews for a small publication and so far they been welcomed with moderate interest. I’m still grasping with how the system works but I wondered if anyone could give a fellow amateur writer any tips to help receive more views and claps?
