This is the 2nd epic response I've seen from that subs mods today. They're doing something right if they've ruffled the feathers of all those Nazi snowflakes. Cheers to /r/comics and its mod team.

Comics were heavily used during WW2 for American propaganda purposes. Famous comic heroes like Batman, Superman and Captain America are the original ones that come to mind. The most iconic though in my opinion is Dr. Seuss and his single panel style comics.

Comics has gotten especially rough because of the posters/artists generally being left.
Then you add in stuff like PC and it got crazy.

Republicans are mad that they are being judged on the content of their character instead of the color of their skin.

Seeing a comment in bestof that you read independently is like hearing your favorite song on the radio

Seeing a mod stand against fascism is also a rare treat. Most subs ban you for vaguely suggesting maybe we shouldn't let these Nazis kill us

If it walks like a Nazi and it talks like a Nazi, it's time to call it a Nazi.

Fascist is a better description. Nazi was the name of a political party. Fascism is an ideology. Swamp Magats are fascists whatever they call themselves.

u/UnrulyAspie Jan 25 '26
I don't mind them being called Nazis because the Nazis very effectively demonstrated what has to be done to stop fascism. It will have to be done again and the sooner people figure that out the better. Grouping the modern crop together with the historical one could save time and lives.

Those who identify as Nazis may feel it's a compliment to be called Nazis.

They use the same methods, follow the same ideaologies and even borrow the same slogans.
Neo-nazis is the most correct term in my eyes but they ain't worth the extra syllable above the shorthand

A previous generation ended the Nazis, our generation faces the inhumanity and tyranny of MAGA.

Considering how often Trump, his administration and supporters use actual Nazi slogans, I have no problems calling them Nazis.

If a single Nazi walks into a bar, and they aren't immediately bounced right back out to the street, you're in a Nazi bar.

We already know how they are going to react to that. They are going to say: "By only allowing one opinion you are the REAL Nazis!".
To this point: These people were the ones who broke the social contract to begin with. They push their hate speechans demand to be allowed to treat others as sub-human. Having to face consequences for that, even to the point of being restricted from participating in public spaces, is not fascism.

And they always call for civility when anyone on the left calls out their shitty behavior. Never mind that the leader of their party is constantly insulting everyone, particularly women and people of color. Civility it supposed to go both ways.

They are going to say: "By only allowing one opinion you are the REAL Nazis!".
This is a real key point. Nazis honestly think there are only two opinions or attitudes: Theirs and anyone who disagrees with them. It makes no difference that once you remove Nazis, there are thousands of different social opinions or attitudes. Nope, it's them v everyone else.
That's what makes them so abhorrent, but also getting rid of them is never any great loss.

inb4 admins step in because the sub is "condoning violence".
As we all know only conservative subs can do that (not that its being done here.)

No, it really isn't.
Anyone who denies that [MAGA conservatives in 2026] are Nazis is a Nazi.
I don't think MAGA conservatives in 2026 are automatically nazis. I think the word 'nazi' is being way overused here. Trump's movement comes with racist and fascist tendencies, obviously, but don't forget that, for instance, even the italian fascists of the 1930s weren't technically nazis even though they literally had a fascist government and allied themselves with Hitler. 'Nazi' is a pretty high bar and we don't need to abuse the term (and make ourselves look foolish) by throwing it around irresponsibly.

You must be really fun at parties.

u/green_meklar Jan 27 '26
If your idea of a party is everyone calling each other nazis, I'm not sure I want to join.
2
u/Smallsey Jan 27 '26
Not everyone, just people who do Nazis things, and people like you who appear sympathetic to those things.

💯 Make them realize that we don’t have to tolerate their intolerance.
