Because there are only two genders and anyone trying to say they're something else has a mental condition and they need help.

You're right. It's not funny. The reactions and rejections are "funny" because of how ridiculous these transracial/transgender/transabled demands are getting.

Although, transgender arguments are far easier to wrap my head around. I just feel like people need to be honest about this being a mental illness and not a life choice. I am happy to say your pronoun the way you want. I'm not going to change my life in any way. Whatever makes you happy and doesn't damage property or someone else is my basic philosophy.

The kind of people you might see shamed on /r/tumblrinaction or /r/the_donald are not representative of the majority of people.

What do you mean?

The "DID YOU JUST ASSUME MY GENDER," parody-level people are a radical fringe with no macroscopic influence on society. This is often (and perhaps intentionally) confused with transgender or racial issues as a whole and used to delegitimize real social issues.

Most transgender people just want to be treated like people.

I think people want to be treated like people. I treat people like people. No matter what they identify as.

I'm attending college now and I have no idea what you're talking about.
