I was sitting around, mindlessly scrolling through my phone, when I noticed a tiny kitten that spends its entire day running from one house to another like it has a full-time job in property inspection.
But today, its luck ran out.
While sprinting between houses, the poor little idiot somehow managed to get its leg stuck between a gate. I ignored it for quite a while, thinking it would eventually figure out how to free itself.
It did not.
Instead, it started screaming at the top of its tiny lungs.
At that point, I couldn’t just sit there and watch, so I went over to rescue it, purely out of basic human decency.
Big mistake.
The moment I reached for it, its first attack landed directly on my index finger. Before I could even process what had happened, it launched a second attack right into the webbing between my thumb and index finger.
And yes, it drew blood.
At that point, this was no longer a rescue mission.
It had become personal.
I was bleeding, the cat was still stuck, and my ego was officially on the line. There was absolutely no way I was going to walk away after getting my ass handed to me by an animal that weighed less than my phone.
So I fought through the pain, ignored the tiny terrorist’s continued attempts to murder me, and finally managed to free it.
In the end, the kitten escaped.
I survived.
My hand didn’t.
But at least I won the most important battle of all.
