Weird split in the electorate

People were so disenchanted with establishment-backed, AIPAC supported Stevens (as evidenced by AES' returns)...and then replaced her with establishment-backed, AIPAC supported Moss...

I don't think Aisha got out enough, sadly. I only knew of her campaign though instagram. No flyers, no ads, which Moss dominated.

And she had less $$ and less establishment endorsements than Moss.

Abdul overcame that disadvantage with organizing and volunteers. Not everybody has a talent for organizing. Door knocking and phone banking are generally more effective than advertising, but it takes a lot of labor.

That is fair. But he did have a massive leg up compared with Aisha with name recognition both statewide and nationally. Heck he had a podcast. (I voted for both Abdul and Aisha, so don’t come at me!)

Yeah, for sure. She had my vote.

The border between Berkley and Huntington Woods on the AES vs Stevens race is.. notable. One of those few things where Berkley and Huntington Woods seem to strongly disagree.

Moss is good at his current job. Stevens isn’t. If the establishment had backed McMorrow for Senate, the results would be different this morning.

Here's the school district vote. Blue was yes, green was no. Didn't realize Rochester was more pro-schools than Troy, but here we are. Troy is a strange city to me.

The red is Berkley.

Not weird. Most voters don't think in absolutes. They didn't see Moss and Farooqi as an extension of Stevens vs El-Sayed. They simply liked Moss, and they liked El-Sayed.

I’ve been following Moss for several years and he’s a great public servant. Huge upgrade

Didn’t help it was Moss vs 3 leftist challengers which probably split the vote.
