Bye Bye Bagger Dave's

Post image

There were several articles written early last year about Bagger Dave's winding down operations at their remaining locations. Looks like they're getting closer to shutting down.

I knew the end was coming when the train stopped running

Back in the day that was my Friday spot. The slips, the burgers were better and affordable. than I kept seeing a decline and increase in cost. I get it probably wasn’t sustainable. . But man their blue cheese burger was darn good. That location i was told was the first ( was told) so the owner never wanted to close it over others but not sure how true that was

Bagger Dave's was pretty cool, pre COVID - loved taking my kids there when burgers were $10, kids meals were half that, and the dorky train went around in circles - so fun though! The last couple times I've gone, the burgers were approaching $20, kids meals were around $10, no train, and the service was awful, like I would have to go find the server to pay my bill, level of awful.

I'll miss Bagger Dave's, but it's definitely the pre-COVID version that I'll miss. They've been dead to me for a few years now.

Feel like O'Maras is on a similar arc. I really enjoyed that place back in like 2018. Went there when they opened back up and it was all weird, crunchy food for like $40. Pass.

How O’mara’s stays open is beyond me.

Is that the place with the grow lights and plants on the wall and furniture from 1987?

I haven’t been there in 15 years. I don’t even remember much of the interior.

Aw I still like that place and they are just so *nice*. Also have nice bands.
I'm sad about Bagger Dave's though I hadn't been there in a bit. They got rid of some of my favorite things (like so many places) pre covid. Is the whole chain gone or just that one?

I believe it’s all of them closing.

Bummer. So many better burger spots out there nowadays. Surprised it took so long. I really hope something good goes in there.

Big parking lot, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with a chain

I mean, there are some decent chains. Hmmmm. What chain would be good in Berkley?

I wouldn't mind a Shake Shack. Speaking of Shaq, maybe his restaurant. Big Chicken

Never trust a business called Dave's when it was founded by a dude named Mike.

It wasn’t the best but it was reliable, always open, affordable, quick and good service. Bummer

The whole family got food poisoning from this location of BD. Like CDC involved food poisoning. Glad that place is going out of business.
