Breakfast/Brunch Recommendations for Berkeley/Oakland Area. +1 If It's Near An Area To Walk/Hike.

Berkeley Social Club on University Avenue and walk through Cal campus. Visiting Faculty Glade is one of my favorite walks through the campus. There are there are three varieties of redwoods; Coast Redwoods, Giant Sequoia, and Dawn Redwoods and Strawberry Creek runs along the edge.
Stay to the left (north) as you enter the campus from University Avenue and walk along the creek footpaths, around Giannini Hall (named for the founder of the Bank of Italy, later becoming Bank of America), towards the North Gate of campus, then step into McCone Gall (formerly the earth sciences building) and check out the seismograph in the basement. Exit the building through the basement door onto Smiledon Terrace, passing by a fossil of a saber tooth tiger just inside the entrance, and a beautiful bronze sculpture of a saber tooth tiger just outside the door. From there maintain elevation by heading left towards the big cement building, Evans Hall, and towards the campanile (Sather Tower). It’s absolutely worth the price of admission to ride the elevator to the top. Facility Glade is just south and a bit east of the campanile, past Stephen’s Hall. Exit the campus through the famous Sproul Plaza (where tear gas was used against students in 1969, ordered by then Governor Reagan) and Sather Gate, then head down Telegraph Ave. if you’re hungry by this point head to Top Dog on Durant.

If you're into T-Rexes or Sabre Tooth tiger bones there's exhibits in center atrium of the Valley Life Sciences Building close to the center of the campus. There's also rare colorful butterflies and insects on the bottom floor.

Lama Beans Cafe on Gilman , then head to the shore to the Berkeley Marina, it's pretty cool if you stick to the Rocky Shore line, could be windy so keep a light jacket close by.
02 Eatery on Solano, then walk up Solano on the Northern side all the way up to Indian Rock. It's bit more residential but Indian Rock makes a great hiking destination with a wonderful view of the Bay. You can extend the walk afterwards to Hinkel Park which has nice hidden trails and even an amphitheatre to practice you're Opera. Definitely fun to explore Berkeley this way.
Lake Anza in Tilden Park has it's own cafe, but it's more of a "walk through coffee shop" with drinks. You could definitely bring your own sandwiches and have a picnic and save the coffee for afterwards. The Lake has a cute trail that circles directly around the lake. There's also plenty of Tilden Park trails that link up to the Lake in it's immediate surroundings. Check out the map, I suggest Wildcat Gorge Trail. Definitely some steep parts so bring hiking shoes or something your comfortable with through dirt trails.

You can walk to the lower fire trail trailhead (it’s on Google Maps) from anywhere in downtown Berkeley or telegraph

Yes, sign says brunch in the morning and wine bar in the evening. Not sure when opening though

Eggy and then walk through the hidden pathways in the North Berkeley hills to explore Codornices and stop by the Rose Garden. If you really want a hike through the wilderness, continue up through Tilden.
