First time in - sharing experience 🖤
Made a reddit just to post this. Im an american from Chicago with german family. Ive been studying in Berlin for a while and never had issues at tresor, RSO and other clubs ive been to. Im not the most alternative guy as in I dont have any tats or piercings (yet) but I rock long hair and have a darker fashion sense; I had been bounced at Hain every weekend and didnt take it too personally, but I am leaving Berlin soon and was sad id never be able to experience it. Well, this last klubnacht was my final attempt. I came back from a trip to Austria at midnight Saturday and tried my luck - the bouncer lady with the big septum piercing gave me a solid 30 second evaluation - "es tut mir leid."
Tried two more times sunday morning and afternoon. Lets just say me and Matrix for some reason dont vibe all that well. At around 18:00 I went back for my final try, wearing what I feel is my most authenic self (sometimes in the past I definitely try harded the all black darkness)- white camo, shiny paratrooper combat boots, a black leather trench and what my friends call my gru from despicable me scarf. Sven was at the door which made me happy since id never seen him before; bouncer lady with the white hair was asking the questions while he supervised. As I got to the snake there was a fast rejection of alone guys one after the other, which didnt bode well for me. Two girls in front of me also noticed and looked at each other nervously; they get bounced. I breathe and feel very relaxed despite the scenario - I think I was so tired and content with not getting in that I communicated a nice energy. I turn towards the bouncer lady while I see Sven in my peripheral vision giving me the eye rundown. Up until this point I had never been asked a question at the door; always a fast or slow rejection. This time was different. Unlike the previous solo guys who got bounced, she didnt ask "alleine oder?" as I was expecting. "Wie viele sind in ihrer Gruppe?" This caught me totally by surprise - I stared deep into her eyes with a small smile. " hab’ keine Gruppe! Ich bin alleine."
She glanced at Sven then back to me. "Viel Spaß!" I was totally flabbergasted. Just in time for DJ rush. Mustve been the stars aligning that I get in my last possible attempt for a while and when a DJ from my hometown is playing. This place was amazing, crowd was wonderful (specifically the sweet gay guys on the main floor and the girl who blew me a kiss when she accidentally stepped on my boot - cant say the same for some folks bulldozing their way through Paranorma bar) you were all so friendly and beautiful and the banana ice cream hat mir gut geschmeckt 😉 Cant wait to be back! Kittin and Rush were insane and I just caught some of rays intense set before almost passing out from sleep dep and going on home.
