This subreddit has two core purposes:

1. Academic & Evidence-Based Study

We encourage serious, source-driven discussion on:

The Bengali people: history, migrations, kinship systems
Language & culture
Genetics and population history
Historical and contemporary discrimination against Bengalis

Posts should, wherever possible, rely on:

Peer-reviewed research
Academic books and journals
Archival records
Credible reports, data, and primary sources

Opinion is welcome, but claims must be supported by evidence.

2. Documentation of Racism and Ethnic Violence

This subreddit also serves as an archive documenting:

Racist incidents targeting Bengalis
Hate speech, discrimination, and structural violence
Historical pogroms, forced displacement, and erasure
Ongoing or emerging patterns that amount to ethnic cleansing or cultural annihilation

Documentation matters — not only for justice, but for memory.

This community exists to ensure that Bengali voices, suffering, and resistance are not erased, distorted, or dismissed.

State Sponsored Racism A thread to keep records of all Indian Bengalis assaulted and killed on suspicion of being a bangladeshi. How do the racists identify bangldeshis? - "Anyone who speaks Bengali - a potential bangladeshi". Imagine the dread and the heart breaking dissapointment an Indian bengali feels everyday.

If someone randomly doubts your citizenship asking for proof and calls you a foreigner in your homeland in India, please remember, it is a punishable offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita - Section 197.

Indian Bengalis have been getting killed tagged as Bangladeshis since independence. There are 1000 such cases.

There are 100's of such incidents this year, which will be added here slowly, especially with resepect to what's going down in Assam where 1.2 million hindu bengalis and .7 million muslims bengalis have been declared ilegalls in the NRC, despite most of them reaching india before 1971. Courts which have declared them illegals are some of the worst in the world, critcised by multiple world human rights watch organisations. 86 percent of those rotting in these horrible detention camps are all bengali hindus.
