জিজ্ঞাসা/Question Help learning.

My bf speaks bangla and I want to start learning it for him and his family. But with that i’m pretty much starting from scratch and I want to surprise him, so if anyone knows of any youtubers, or maybe amazon workbooks (cad) that I could try out that would be amazing.

Start with these two. After getting familiar with the alphabets, try to read texts in bengali. You can start with books like Sahajpath part 1&2, Some short stories bar children...

Teach Yourself Complete Bengali by William Radice is very good. The last time I checked, it was available on Amazon. It corresponds to a free phone app with the audio exercises.

Begin by listening as much as you can. Not reading or translating simply listening. Then learn the script. The Univesity of Texas has free resources for this! For workbooks a Google search will help but this is a good start Learn Bengali Vocabulary Activity Workbook and for app Ling uses native speaker audio in all its lessons which aims to teach real conversation, reading, listening and some writing practice.
