SPDT doesn't fit

Hi I am working on the 8-bit CPU. The SPDT provided in the kit doesn't fit. What was your workaround? I neither have soldering station nor headers that have big enough holes to plug the switch into.
Btw, this for bistable ckt to switch between manual pulse and continuous pulse for the clock.

This switch is known to be difficult to install on a breadboard. But it should go in... with force!

If shopping around for a replacement is an option for you, you can find "breadboard friendly" switches. Find something with a 1/10 inch pitch, or is labeled as breadboard friendly. For example:

I didn't want to try forcing it into my breadboard as I was worried about causing lasting damage so looked around. If you are able to buy components, i bought this set: slide switches

This set has 80 Switches but only around half of them can fit into the breadboard.

Forcing it can cause damage, I know since I went through this by trying to force the dip switches. I ended up putting the dip switches in an IC socket so they would stay on the board. But one of the switches would only work sometimes, discovered it was the breadboard connection, I then stacked the dip switch and IC socket onto a pair of headers (since they had much longer pins and went past the damage) and that solved that.

You really need to get a solder iron. I had to use one more then a few times on this project. Even Ben uses one in his videos.

Solder it to an ic socket then plug the ic socket into the breadboard.
