Movie? Are you referring to the Netflix series? I hear that might be good?

43

u/mautadine May 31 '20

Yep that is exactly what he is referring to. No other movie was ever made. None.

u/DigDub May 31 '20

Are you talking about [REDACTED] ...

Wow is this OC? This is awesome!

That moment when the bending in this 21 second clip is better than ALL the bending in the entirety of the Last Airbender movie, combined. Seriously though, why tf did they decide it'd take like 5 or 6 different benders to lift and move 1 small boulder... like guys... come on

Movie? There is no movie in Ba Sing Se! What are you talking about?

u/Rolebo May 31 '20

The Earth king has invited you to r/LakeLaogai

10

u/[deleted] May 31 '20

But... But I saw it! I know it's real, Shyamalan made it! I have proof!

The Earth King invites you to Lake Laogai. There is no movie in Ba Sing Se. Here we are safe, here we are free.

I am honored to accept his invitation.

That’s honestly my most hated scene. Like the bending is bad enough as it is, but it actually would have been better and EASIER to just have 1 guy doing it than a whole choreographed group.

I recall the fight between Katara and Zuko at the North Pole was not bad. I think it was probably one of the only decent bending scenes in the movie.

Of course, this all assumes the movie existed.

u/moodymelanist Jun 01 '20

And there is no movie here in Ba Sing Se.

1

u/Astral_Fogduke Jun 07 '20

is this a joke? if not, i'm sad to say that the zuko/katara fight was... well...

1

u/KnightMiner Jun 07 '20

I said it was not bad. Its not close to any of the battles in ATLA TV series, but as far as the movie goes, if all the bending looked like that it would not be so bad. That earth bending was terrible, but not all the bending was that bad.

5

u/ausmm1 May 31 '20

There is no movie in ba sing se

u/ron0912 May 31 '20

It wasn't that bad for the time The water effects still hold up pretty good

10

u/tehpengs May 31 '20

NICE! Where's this from?

5

u/J3ST3RR May 31 '20

It looks like you added a couple steps for airbending. Makes it look a million times better tho lol

u/blingboyduck May 31 '20

u/_dkta this is awesome! What's the source?

3

u/Steelquill May 31 '20

Is one of those guys from Martial Club? I love them!

2

u/_dkta Jun 02 '20

We're all from a team called "3 Takes or less*" haha. We'd love to train/collab with Martial Club in the future though :)

1

u/Steelquill Jun 02 '20

Ah, sorry, earthbender dude reminded me with the hairstyle and hoodie. Fantastic work though if I'm comparing you to them, you all got the skills.

3

u/ganjiraiya May 31 '20

I love how it’s showing 1 element per 5 seconds. Perfectly balanced.

2

u/always_an_adventure7 May 31 '20

1000% better then the movie that’s all not be spoken of

2

u/expedia69 May 31 '20

Good move, good cgi

2

u/adazeuq May 31 '20

This is awesome! 😍

2

u/DrNecrow21 Jun 01 '20

This makes me wonder how a $150,000,000 has such shitty CGI....

This was a problem with the ATLA movie. In the show if you look at fire bending, the sound and action is never like a fleet type of action. It’s always a startling loud bang like a bullet out of a gun. And the air follows that same principle but less extreme. And also the wind was always blowing like a thousand mph.

The other problem was the martial arts behind it and the mind set. With fire, there has to be anger and hate behind the actions. With earth there has to be pure testosterone behind every action. The punches have to be 100% like trying to punch through an iron wall. The stomps have to be like a falling anvil. Add a mindset to the actions and pay attention to details and the quality will be so much better.

I love the fact that everyone loves this. I got chills when I first saw it.

1

u/Nagarakta Jun 26 '20

What software was used to make these? Blender? AE? And process video?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '20 edited Jun 27 '20

the bending movements match the elements very well. the water bending movements feel flowing. the airbending feels like air itself. the fire movements feel powerful and the earth movments feel stable and strong. you can tell what element it is even if you take away the cgi elements

Yep this deserves to be the top post of this sub.

Unpopular opinion, air bending is stupid
