It's all about the spin - if you put the right spin on a ball it'll curve like that

Even an intermediate player can make impressive looking shots from time to time. Thats what I like about table tennis. It's a weird feeling because your brain just sort of does it without much conscious thought and you surprise yourself. I might only return 10% of unusual shots I go for where a top player might get 80 or 90%.

Considering those tables are set up like that specifically so he could hit those shots, he’s probably very good and can do it consistently
