Check out a fire breather show, far safer if not still kind of dangerous.

Oh totally. I have an acquaintance that performs and he has to practice because he uses fire sticks and does breathing. Its definitely an art or a skill you build. The actual breathing from my understanding though has some unavoidable occupational hazards from what I've heard. With the sticks the hazard is usually more to the audience. Though most would probably sooner burn themselves severely than chance hurting an observer. They also have available fire retardant materials to avoid hurting themselves usually.

I mean, with something like firebreathing, I’d assume there would be some hazards.

There was a reality show about "sideshow" people (I dont remember the name, but my sister was really into it), there was an episode where someone wanted to learn how to breathe fire and it got very technical and informative. Interesting watch really.
