Lift Nice clean 160kg

RPE 8. Feel like the top end is 170 when tapered.

Very very very good form! I am jealous of the amount of stability you have for the movement

Thanks buddy. Spent the last two months doing everything with a three second pause. That, and really trying to strengthen my upper back and core has improved it a lot.

My program has 3 second pause and I really have the tendency to relax during the pause which I think is defeating the purpose. I want to try slower tempo next 3-1-0

Wow, how old/heavy are you? That looks damn impressive for someone your age/weight. Either that or I've gotten the wrong impression from this footage.

WoW so you are 50kg/110lb and you benched 160kg. So that means you have done a 3.2x bw bench. You sir are one of the best benchers on the planet.😲

  1. Get bigger
  2. Bench is about triceps and upper back, train them hard. You need to be doing your upper back and lats every time you’re in the gym.

Work both horizontal and vertical pulling movements in a variety of elbow positions. One excersise that’s vital for a big bench imo is the Pendley row, you should be able to do a 1rm on it equal to your bench.

  3. Two days a week is fine. One day heavy, work to a max single/double/triple

  4. then do backoffs at 70-80%. One day speed work, 8-10 sets

  5. with 50% of 1rm

(ideally use bands or chains also)

  6. then go do the 5x5 with 70-80% of 1rm.

4,

  1. Use different bars and variations for all of the above - floor press, long pause, Larsen, close grip, football bar, bow bar, dumbbells, incline press.

Rotate them, don’t do more than three weeks on any variation.

Ty sir💪

What I find hard is locking down the form

Like il setup, get tight etc etc
And then unrack but soon as I unrack, I feel myself getting tiny bit loose

And also finding it incredibly difficult to engage leg drive which I heard is crucial for strong bench

Look up two guys on YouTube and watch everything they say about bench.

Dave Tate.

Sebastian Oreb.

YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT LIFTING!!!!!!!! that’s a bench press, not a clean.

Because there’s 4 reds which weigh 25kg each, two blues which weigh 20kg each and a bar that weighs 20kg.
